Draft script front page from Pop at the Mill August 1976. The show was a pop festival from the back lawn of Pebble Mill.

Thanks to sound supervisor, Roger Guest, for sharing the script, and for keeping it safe all these years.

The following comments were left on the Pebble Mill Facebook page:

Keith Brook (Scouse): ‘That’s interesting. I thought I vision mixed that series. Was this before or after my sojourn into button pushing?’

Susan Astle: ‘Wish I could remember….as I worked on it!’

Lynn Cullimore: ‘I remember it very well – dancing in the courtyard and the guest were Joe Brown and dare I say Gary Glitter. Many years ago and I thought it was great. Wish I had worked on it.’

‘Pop at the Mill’ was an open air pop festival which went out live on Saturday nights during the summer of 1977.

The set was built on the back lawn, behind the main Pebble Mill office block.

P.A. Gail Herbert remembers working on ‘Pop At The Mill’, ‘these were great fun. Carol Morgan, Sam Watkins & I used to work as camera bashers and one day one of those large cameras (I think it was Phil Wilson operating) ran straight over my toe – blimey it was sore!’

‘Pop at the Mill’ was an open air pop festival which went out on Saturday nights during the summer of 1977.  It was set in the courtyard of Pebble Mill, behind the foyer where ‘Pebble Mill at One’ was set.  Acts included Gary Glitter, Joe Brown and Showaddywaddy.

I’m not sure which which acts are shown in the photos.

Thanks to Gail Herbert for making the photos available.
