A chance to listen to one of the Plaque For Pebble Mill Campaigners making their case on a recent edition of Radio WM’s Adrian Goldberg Show. It’s about 1 hour 50 minutes in.

When the Pebble Mill building was emptied in 2004, prior to being demolished, members of staff were given a piece of the mosaic which was on the exterior wall of the courtyard. I have kept my little square safe for the last decade. I particularly like how the date is written in Roman numerals, like in the end credits of any BBC programme.

This verbal game show was presented by Gordon Burns, and went out in BBC1 Daytime in 1993-4. Two celebrity pairs were pitted against each other, in rounds of communication games.

There were several series from Pebble Mill, before it was made as an independent production by Gordon Burns’ production company – KPA (Kershaw Production Associates). Geoff Kershaw was the series editor.

Thanks to Ian Collins for making this titles grab available.

Does anyone know about, or have memories of, the 1971 Christmas Day service broadcast on BBC 1 at 10.30am from St Mary’s Church in Moseley? It was probably an outside broadcast by Pebble Mill (as the building had opened some months before). Barrie Edgar provided the TV presentation.

It is to be featured in the Moseley based, B13 Magazine, and the writer would like more details.

Here is the entry from the Radio Times, courtesy of the BBC Genome project:

“A Family Service

Conducted by the Vicar, THE REV LORYS DAVIES
Children’s drama and music as well as traditional carols are included in this Christmas service.
