Publicity photos, probably taken by Willoughby Gullachsen, of The Ritz, the comedy drama written by John Godber, and adapted from his theatre piece, Bouncers.
The series was transmitted in 1987, it was produced by Chris Parr, and was co-directed by John Godber and Martin Shardlow.

NB : The top photo is taken from the stage show Putting on the Ritz by John Godber which was performed at The Haymarket Theatre ,Leicester directed by Robin Midgley ( former Head of Drama at Pebblemill ) . Some of the original cast from the TV series were in it but with the addition of Julie T. Wallace ( pictured on the left ) and John Godber’s later wife Jane Thornton (R ) . This was a spin-off play based on the TV series The Ritz and Robin Midgley had been a former Artistic Director of Leicester Haymarket Theatre .
